Tinka Xmas Gift idea #1!

Do you have someone in your family who really likes reading books? Well here is the perfect christmas gift for them that you can make yourself. Using your very own Tinka from the gallery, or making a new one especially for the project, you can design and create a Tinka bookmark! Think about who you are giving it to and what they like – if they crazy about a certain type of animal for example, then make a Tinka that looks like that. You could even make a Tinka look-a-like of the person themselves, like TinkaGrandma or TinkaDad!
Tinka book marks
Here are three we made from some awesome Tinkas in the gallery (from left to right): “x ray” by cutymasters123, “Giraffe” by Coconut, and “berry nice” by Wheeler.
Awesome Tinkatolli book marks
Tinkatolli Logo
You don’t need much to make these, only a print-out of your Tinka, the Tinkatolli logo and some light-wieght card like the kind cereal boxes are made of. Other than that, you just need some tools; glue, stapler, scissors and if you like, a ruler. Start by printing out your Tinka and the logo above. To do that, right click on the image you want to print, and select “save as”, then open that file and print from there.
How to make Tinkatolli bookmarks
With very few materials you can make really cool gifts yourself!
Roughly cut out the Tinka’s head and stick the bottom half to some card. Then cut out the whole head carefully, cutting through the card also. Make two identical strips of card – these will be the body of the bookmark, (you decide length and width). Then staple the Tinka head to the top of one of the card strips. It is neatest if you staple under the Tinka print, just above where you have glued. Remember not to staple it any lower than the middle of the head, because it needs space to “grab on” to the page when it is finished.
Instruction #2 - how to make Tinkatolli bookmarks
Finishing off the bookmark and putting it into use. See how the head of the Tinka marks the page you’re up to? This means it stays much more securely in place than a normal bookmark too, as it won’t fall out as easily.
So that your bookmark is nice and strong, take the second strip and glue it to the back of the strip that you have stapled the Tinka onto. It is important to glue the “right sides” of the card together (the sides that have the colours on them), this way you can only see the plain card front and back. Then glue the rest of the Tinka’s head down on the card, so it hides the staple.

Finally, you can stick the Tinkatolli logo on the bottom right hand corner and cut the edge of the card so that it follows the logo’s “stuck on” look. With this nice plain surface, you could even decorate the bookmarks however you like, or write a little message for the person you are making it for!

Awesome! Comment what you think of this Idea!

Make your own Tinkatolli Xmas Snowflakes!

Making it feel extra christmassy, there is a whole lot of snow falling outside Tinkatolli HQ’s windows at the moment. We got inspired by it, and thought we would show you a cool and easy way to make some snowflakes from newspaper and/or old printer paper.
This is a TinkaSnowFlake
Tinkatolli snowflakes – they are made from newspaper of course!
Snow flakes are awesome because no two are the same. If you do a little image search on the Net for snowflakes, you will be amazed at what you see and might even get some great ideas for shapes too. Once you have the hang of it, you will find that you can really experiment and have a lot of fun making them. Smooth or jagged patterns, solid or delicate shapes – they all just look great when they are done!
Steps making Tinkatolli snowflakes
1. Cut circles from paper – with newspaper you can cut lots at a time because it is so thin. 2. Fold it in half 4 times and cut out any pattern. 3. Open your snowflake. 4. Finished and ready to use!
The way you make them is first by finding something you can use as a template for the circle. Plates work really well, you can make a nice big snowflake from a dinner plate, and a saucer makes a good size for a medium one. In the instructions here we used the masking tape roll to make a small flake. You could use a glass too, but remember, the smaller you go, the more fiddly it is to cut out the patterns. Then just follow the steps above – watching out for your fingers when cutting.
Tinkatolli snowflake in use
Snowflakes in use – here is one hanging in the special Tinkatolli christmas tree (which you can read about here soon), and another being used for a gift card.
They are really quick and easy to make and you can use them for all sorts of things – they look really cool hanging from the ceiling, and you can hang them from the tree. You could even decorate gifts by sticking them on, or using them as “To/From” gift cards, if you make them from old printer paper, and leave some space in the middle for writing on.
Tinkatolli snow flake from newspaper
The thing about real snow flakes is that actually they only ever have 6 sides. Here ours have 8 because it is a little easier to make, but it is all about how many times you fold the circle. So if you are feeling extra clever, you can work out for yourself how to make “correct” snowflakes with 6 sides.
Have a fun Time Tinkering!

Tinkatolli EXLUSIVE Theory, XmaxTinkas, and Tinkatolli Glitch?

Hey Tinkas! At the end of the last post I said '' I think I have a theory I'll post soon! '' Time to post the Theory! The last post I posted pictures of the real Tinkatolli HQ. In the picture, did you notice, Tinkatolli toys?
Tinkatolli HQ Light
You can see it next to the window closest to the Table. Wow :o!

TinkaXmas Tip #1 – TinkaBows.
All you need is some junk mail, cardboard, scissors and a stapler – and you can make your very own TinkaBows to decorate gifts with.
Our first TinkaXmas post is something you could also use for birthday gifts. All you need is some junk mail, card, scissors and a stapler, and you can make your very own bows to decorate gifts with.
People (especially family) just love it when they get your very own handmade gift wrapping – because they know you have put extra love and effort into what you give them!
There is always heaps of junk mail around, but especially this time of year – so let’s put it to good use!
Get some junk mail (holiday themed catalogues, old magazines, newspaper) that catches your eye. The great thing is you won’t really notice what is printed on the junk mail was once your TinkaBow is made, you’ll just see patterns and colours.
Cut out some templates, fold the paper and cut out the shapes. Then staple them together.
Draw templates – of half the shape you want for your bows – on your cardboard. Cut out the shapes. These are your “petal” templates.
Fold a page of junk mail in half, and keep folding several times so that you can cut out lots of the shape, all at once. Remember that the straight side of the template (the right side of the cardboard petals in the picture above), and the bottom, need to be on folds – or they will not create the whole shape you want.
Assemble the three sections – one at a time, with a staple in the middle to hold each group of “petals” together.
Finally, staple all three sections together – and you are done!
If you want to make it look more “3D-ish”, just make the folds in each petal deeper by folding them a few extra times. You can make heaps of them and really have some awesome looking gifts under the tree this year.
A beautiful TinkaBow to decorate any gift with – quick and easy to make.

Awesome! Time for the glitch. I was going to the Gallery to view my Tinka's votes, until....

Weird.. Does this mean It is updating? Who knows!

Cya next time!
