Tinka Xmas Gift idea #1!

Do you have someone in your family who really likes reading books? Well here is the perfect christmas gift for them that you can make yourself. Using your very own Tinka from the gallery, or making a new one especially for the project, you can design and create a Tinka bookmark! Think about who you are giving it to and what they like – if they crazy about a certain type of animal for example, then make a Tinka that looks like that. You could even make a Tinka look-a-like of the person themselves, like TinkaGrandma or TinkaDad!

Here are three we made from some awesome Tinkas in the gallery (from left to right): “x ray” by cutymasters123, “Giraffe” by Coconut, and “berry nice” by Wheeler.

Tinkatolli Logo
You don’t need much to make these, only a print-out of your Tinka, the Tinkatolli logo and some light-wieght card like the kind cereal boxes are made of. Other than that, you just need some tools; glue, stapler, scissors and if you like, a ruler. Start by printing out your Tinka and the logo above. To do that, right click on the image you want to print, and select “save as”, then open that file and print from there.
How to make Tinkatolli bookmarks
With very few materials you can make really cool gifts yourself!
Roughly cut out the Tinka’s head and stick the bottom half to some card. Then cut out the whole head carefully, cutting through the card also. Make two identical strips of card – these will be the body of the bookmark, (you decide length and width). Then staple the Tinka head to the top of one of the card strips. It is neatest if you staple under the Tinka print, just above where you have glued. Remember not to staple it any lower than the middle of the head, because it needs space to “grab on” to the page when it is finished.
Instruction #2 - how to make Tinkatolli bookmarks
Finishing off the bookmark and putting it into use. See how the head of the Tinka marks the page you’re up to? This means it stays much more securely in place than a normal bookmark too, as it won’t fall out as easily.
So that your bookmark is nice and strong, take the second strip and glue it to the back of the strip that you have stapled the Tinka onto. It is important to glue the “right sides” of the card together (the sides that have the colours on them), this way you can only see the plain card front and back. Then glue the rest of the Tinka’s head down on the card, so it hides the staple.

Finally, you can stick the Tinkatolli logo on the bottom right hand corner and cut the edge of the card so that it follows the logo’s “stuck on” look. With this nice plain surface, you could even decorate the bookmarks however you like, or write a little message for the person you are making it for!

Awesome! Comment what you think of this Idea!
